I wasn't going to post this because frankly, it went rather wrong. I think I possibly used too much filling so it oozed out and also made the middle rather soggy. Anyway, as I took the photos I thought I'd post it anyway in case anyone cares to have a go at improving on it.

- 5 sheets of filo pastry
- Melted butter
- 60 g ground poppy seeds
- 250g caster sugar
- 150 ml honey
- 1tbsp brandy
- 1tsp cinnamon
- Icing sugar for dusting
- Heat the oven to 175C
- Grind the poppy seeds in a spice grinder.
- Mix together the poppy seeds, sugar, honey, brandy and cinnamon to form a thick paste.
- Lay the sheets of filo on top of one another, brushing well with melted butter between each layer.
- Spread the paste over the surface of the filo leaving a margin around each edge.
- Fold in the bottom edge and sides of the pastry and brush with melted butter.
- Roll the pastry ito a sausage shape and brush with melted butter.
- Bake for 25 mins until golden brown.
- Allow to cool and then dust with icing sugar
