Shelf life of thawed frozen food

I made chili a while ago and froze the leftovers and I took them out of the freezer a few days ago to thaw and they have thawed, how long does something like this last until it's no good anymore?

However many days it would have lasted if you hadn't put it in the freezer.

That’s what I go with, about three.

I did read somewhere that if you thaw something, and it’s kept cold during that period of three days or whatever, it’s ok to refreeze it, though that seems dubious to me (though I’m sure grocery stores to that all the time ).

Generally speaking, if I take something out of the freezer, it never goes back in, because I have it eaten within a day or two.
