Show us your breakfast (2025)

DD and I shared breakfast/brunch yesterday. Apple pie pancakes - Stuffed with walnuts and raisins, warm baked apple cinnamon compote & topped with graham crumble. DD ate half a pancake and I had a 1/4 of one pancake.
And corned beef hash, home fries, toast, and we each had one and a half poached eggs.

Mr SSOAP stresses out so enormously about my birthday
He's not the only one who stresses out about birthdays (and Christmas).
Buying a present for my wife is like trying to find the exact tiny fish the South Phillipine dwarf kingfisher prefers.
The very worst thing I can hear is : "surprise me!" :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I’m not difficult to buy for. It’s the cooking that stresses him out, he thinks everything needs to be perfect so applies a lot of pressure to himself which invariably does cause things to go south 😂
Even reheating things I’ve made prior seems to go wrong for him if it’s my birthday 😆
But the pies were a winner so it looks like my birthday from now on will be Pie Day!

January 23 is National Pie Day here. 👍

Today's Brunch

Mr. Next Door Neighbor was telling us yesterday about the joys of Peanut Butter schmeared atop a warm Waffle... let's see.
DH's plate (I do not care for PB).
He wasn't impressed and started over with a fresh Waffle and real Maple Syrup.

I went with a boat load of soft Butter and Boysenberry Syrup, thank you very much!!

Some people love peanut butter. I am not one of those, I am with you on the boysenberry and butter. I also like a berry compote and fresh berries.

I do think that maybe some Nutella might be alright on a waffle, but still rather have butter, fruit, and syrup.

I've had PB on toast.
But I prefer butter.
I don't do the jelly thing either.

I think the older we get the more we don't like to deviate unless it's to trigger a memory.

Love the look of that brat.
I'd need a little ketchup with mine.

JAS_OH1 hmmm, Nutella ya say? I have some, I'll need to give it a whirl.
PAcanis those sausages are handmade "British Bangers" from our local Kroger's aka Fry's Supermarket Meat Counter. My SIL showed me how to cook a sausage like they do it in Germany and they come out perfect every time.

Yes, I think that would work much better, but like I said, I don't love peanut butter. Also thinking that fresh strawberries and/or bananas atop of that (Nutella) with a light drizzle of honey or syrup might be nice.
