Like I mentioned in another topic, today is Veterans Day, so I popped into my usual Vets Day spot for breakfast…Denny’s.

This is a weird place. The food is fine, just standard diner fare for those not familiar, but the service is absolutely abysmal, but not for lack of trying. That’s why I keep coming back.

The waitresses, to a person, are completely incompetent, but they’re so sincere, they try so hard and are so nice, I can’t think ill of them, and I keep coming back. Maybe they’ve hit on a way to get repeat business while giving poor service. 😉

Anyway, breakfast was the scrambled eggs, two sausage links, two strips of bacon, and two pancakes. Coffee to drink (and that’s not included. I paid for that.).

Waffle House was my go-to. Two eggs, grits floating on butter, bacon, toast, and several cups of black coffee.

Blueberry & vanilla cream cheese blintzes ( Jewish filled pancakes) ❤️

I saw this different technique for making Poached Eggs, thought I'd give it a go

IMG_1058.JPG

...on Avocado (really, it's Guacamole from DH's sandwich the other day) Toast, all topped off with a sprinkle of "Everything But The Bagel" seasoning. Serve up with Tea & OJ, AH YUM!!!

As I pulled the cooked Egg from the hot water, I thought maybe I hadn't done it enough, but I let it sit in the hot water until I had my landing pad ready, perfect!
Poaching just one Egg (Dh is not a big fan of Eggs in general) is a bit of a PITA, but this sure was worth the effort.

Went for breakfast after lab work this morning. Craig had their in-house made corned beef hash, 2 eggs and rye toast. No picture. I had iced coffee made with coffee ice cubes, chicken fried steak, which about 2/3 came home, 1 egg, 1 egg that came home, an everything bagel, which came home, and doctored up grits, which about half came home, and we hot a mini corn muffins, which is new for them.

Brunch for Moi:
American-style Soft Scrambled Egg (just one) in oodles of melted Butter, with Everything But The Bagel seasoning stirred in, topped with melted White American Cheese; piled high on a well Buttered piece of 21 grain bread, toasted, AH YUM!!!

I didn't snap a photo, because I was just too hang hangry!

DH: What the hell is that?
Moi: Scrambled Egg with Everything Bagel seasoning
DH: You eat some weird 💩
Moi: No, actually, that's trending in the foodie world
DH: You're weird!!
Moi: It's really good, here, try it
DH: 🤢

Today's Brunch

What I'm calling a Breakfast Skillet:
A base of Hash Browns, there's 2 American-style soft scrambled Eggs with cubed up and fried hard Ham and Green Onions; all topped off with the cheese of the diners choice.
This is DH's plate, he wanted Swiss cheese, diced Tomatoes and very lightly toasted Rye Bread.
Not shown in the photo above is a small bowl of canned Lychee and a small glass of Cranberry Juice.

I was out early delivering chutney, hot sauce, Indian pickles, etc., today, and one of my clients was conveniently right next to Casa Bistró (the place I did the Indian food festival a month or so ago). Cachapa con queso (freshly ground corn pancake wrapped around luscious fresh white cheese)
