As I understand it you can build up an immunity to snake venom, so a small nick and being ok could maybe be viewed as very positive?

There used to be a place called The Serpentarium in South Miami fronting US Highway #1. The front of the building was 1 story with a huge Cobra neck and head coming up from the center of the building. The guy that owned/ran the place was named Bill Haast and he deliberately allowed various venomous snakes to bite him and inject venom. He did a lot of research into venom and medical uses. Guy lived to be 100 and attributed his longevity to venom.

I didn't bother reading this at the time - just searched it and read it. It's quite interesting 'Unparalleled' snake antivenom made from man bitten 200 times
