This is super simple. Hardly a recipe at all! The bread has a pleasing nutty taste and puffs up in the pan quite well. This recipe makes 4 x 7 inch flatbreads (or 2 larger flatbreads).

Ingredients
200g spelt flour
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
100ml water
Oli for frying

Method

  • Mix the salt into the flour and add the water gradually until a soft dough is formed, which comes away from the sides of the bowl. You may need a little less or a little more water.
  • Knead the dough until it seems elastic and smooth.
  • Divide into 2 or 4 pieces and roll out into rounds on a floured surface.
  • Heat frying pan until hot and add a little oil. Cook flatbreads one at a time for 2 or 3 minutes on each side. The dough should puff up in places and char slightly.
