How to the entire site as read.

  1. To mark the entire site as read you can be at the home page or anywhere in any forum. Clicking on the button called "Mark Forums Read" which can be found in the top left hand corner of the home page will give you this option.

  2. When you click on it, you will get a confirmation screen which you need to accept.

Done. The entire site is now marked as read, so you can start from afresh. When you click on New Posts, you will now see an empty forum list (unless you take too long and someone has responded whilst you were waiting!)

You can also get to this button from the New Posts list as well.

It is also possible to get the same option, anywhere in any forum, you just get a very slightly different prompt.

The system will default to the forum listing you are in being selected. In this case it was 'The CookingBites Café' that was selected and I needed to change it to 'Mark all forums read' instead.

How to mark an individual forum as read.

  1. To mark an individual forum as read, rather than the entire site, you just need to go into the forum you want to mark as read, and click on the same button, Mark Forums Read.

  2. This time you will get 2 options, mark the forum you are in as read (in this example it is "The CookingBites Café"), or to "Mark all forums read". The default option is to simply mark the forum you are in as read, so simply click on the confirmation button "Mark Forums Read" and you are done.

The same button is available to use when you are viewing an individual thread. Clicking on the button "Mark Forums Read" at this stage will simply give you the same options as above, to mark the forum that the thread is in as read, or to mark the entire site as read. Again the default option is to mark the forum the thread is in as read.
