It’s against the law here, but it’s not really enforced. If you cause a wreck or run someone down, sure, they’ll check your phone and add that to the other charges you’re facing, but they’re not going to stop you for it here unless you’re holding your phone up and driving like an idiot.

They just made using handheld phones while driving illegal here, too, even though I have to take my eyes off the road longer to toggle through my vehicle's touch screen to adjust the cabin air, than to make a call. Most people seem to ignore it.

Same here with respect to the cabin controls. It’s why I prefer knobs ( wha…? ). With knobs, I can reach down and adjust everything by feel, but with all the controls now being digital/touch, I have to look.
