That wouldn't be my type of curry ;)
My changes?
Keep the steak and oil. And maybe the scandinavian and carrot.
Omit everything else :hyper:

But give it a try if it appeals to you.
I just dont like fruit in my dinner and I don't have a sweet tooth ;)

Find another recipe?

In all seriousness if I wanted a sweet curry (I do like sweet curry.. and all curry 😂) I’d be looking more towards a classic Korma recipe.
Korma’s are sweet and mild but warming and that sweetness comes from coconut or almonds or cashews (or sometimes a combination).

The good thing about curry that is in a sauce is it’s easy to adjust the final flavour.
If it’s not sweet enough, spicy enough, salty enough you can add a bit of whatever you need at the end. Palm sugar or other sweetener will mix in very successfully at the end of a cook.
Spices on the other hand need to be cooked out for a bit.

The good thing about the ever popular Korma is they can be made very simply and successfully made with few ingredients using shortcuts like curry powder or you can go to town with a much more complicated recipe.

If you're searching for a "sweet" curry, then I'd take a look at Japanese curries. They're usually a whole lot sweeter and, if I remember rightly, the curry powder is easily available.
Somewhere I've got a recipe for a Caribbean chicken curry which involves banana and mango - I'll have to look it up later.
The recipe above looks more like a beef and vegetable stew to me. It desperately needs onions, garlic and ginger.

Try this one for size:
Caribbean Chicken Curry a la KKA
You're quite welcome to fiddle about with the ingredients, especially the fruit, but the onion, ginger, garlic and chile peppers really make a difference, as does cooking the curry powder for a bit before coating the chicken.
I made this recipe for a friend who can't take the heat!
