Most expensive coffee I had was paris 98 a small cafe near the Seine. I wanted to experience a french coffee. Wifes not a drinker.
A glass of water
A cup of coffee a bit bigger than a thimble.
1 sandwich
Total $38 nz from memory.
I could buy 6 jugs of beer here at the time.
Very strong from memory and last coffee there.

Coffee over here is serious. We don't do "Costa Coffee" or "Starbucks" - so the classification is a bit more complicated.
Basically, there's "Black", "Brown" or "White" (with milk) coffee. (Negro, marrón, con leche).
However... it's not that easy. You can ask for three types of black coffee (strong, espresso or weak); two types of brown (dark or light) and two types of white ( with milk, or "tetero" - literally, a baby's bottle)
Coffee costs about $1 a cup.
