The CookingBites recipe challenge: cooking oils/fats

Thanks all
@ThePowersThatBe
I went through the list of challenges and was wondering if we can do "steam" as an ingredient? Steaming?.
Would be the almost opposite of this oil challenge
I don't think steam will work as an ingredient to be honest. Nor can I see water working particularly well either. It's more of a process than anything else.

Do you have any other ideas?

Steam would be an interesting one though. The water from steam does effect the end result quite a lot 🤷‍♀️
How does it get used as an ingredients though? You can't eat or drink steam. It's too hot and (for want of pointing out the blindly obvious) will burn. Cool it and its no longer steam, but water.

The steam is an ingredient because it lands in the final product and affects the end result.
I’m not sure it matters that you have it listed as a specific ingredient “one bucket of steam” 😂
The steam would have to be a prominent feature for it to be counted as an entry. Water as an ingredient is a different thing altogether.
Fortunately it’s not my call and I’m lurker in the challenges not really a participant so I think I should stay out of it.

Mod.comment: Regarding coriander: I would caution against including 'ready mixtures' as they differ so much between brands both in proportions and mix of ingredients used. Many brands are specific to the countries in which they are bought (or even to specific supermarkets, stores), so the recipe becomes inaccessible unless you can buy that particular brand (as well as difficult to judge!).

I was thinking it makes it easier to use.

Not everyone is keen to make their curry spice mixture from scratch as it requires a lot of other ingredients and they may not use them on a regular base.

Certain brands Thai red curry paste are universally available. Same as some brands curry powder.
So I think they should be allowed as long as the brand is mentioned
