Last gasp entry: Turkish Aubergine and Pepper with Yoghurt sauce
This recipe is called "yogurtlu patlican biber kizamartli in Turkish - a yoghurt dish with aubergines, red peppers and garlic.
The original recipe (which I took from "A Mediterranean Feast" , by Clifford Wright) used loads of olive oil to deep fry the vegetables, no paprika/cayenne and raw garlic - which my wife doesn't like.
I painted the aubergines/peppers with olive oil and then fried them. I also fried the whole garlic cloves, which sweetens the dish. The addition of paprika and cayenne was to add a kick to the dish.
