150 years? Not that many years ago there we watched a total lunar eclipse - it was a "blood moon". In my local today's eclipse was very early this morning and so low on the horizon that it was only visible for a few minutes. Did not get out of bed to watch this one.

I think the one tonight is called a blood moon.

I think it was Philip Glenister - I quite like him but as with many actors it depends on his role.
Got a good look at the 'blood moon' - not much to see really. It was very bright but that's about it

To me the moon looked bigger on Tuesday, when I took the mutt for his early evening walk. All last night (Wednesday) it didn't look any different to usual, and now (2 a.m. Thursday morning) it is thick cloud, so we can't see anything.
 
There was a small break in the cloud at about 6.20 this morning. The first photo is the view from my bathroom window at 6.23. The moon had to compete with the awful bright street lights and the lights in the building opposite - unfortunately these are on all night from 1/2 hour before dusk to 1/2 hour after dawn. The second photo is taken from my back garden at 6.49.

Just submitted our results to the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch. This is an annual event and helps the organisation to monitor numbers of different species. It's probably one of the biggest participation events in the UK; you don't have to do much, just record what birds you see over the course of an hour on so on one day.
 
@Duck59 I signed my mum up to do this last year. I went to join her but they had just moved home so this year, after a year of her having a bird bath and food out we planned to do this again. Unfortunately I was ill so she did it by her self and was disappointed that she only got sparrows and the odd pigeon. The more interesting birds stay away.

I get a woodpecker in my garden and by neighbour (90 degree angle from our house) backs on to the river and often gets kingfishers.

There is a butterfly count too but I missed that last year as I misread the dates. Must pay attention this year!

I missed the super blue blood moon on Wednesday due to clouds and rain but on Thursday evening I watched the supermoon rise and chased it on my way home after a bike ride. It was brilliant and redder as it first rose.
