Cars do not stay outside in my household -- except my work trucks in the past. Both of my cars are in the garage. Most of my neighbor's and friend's cars are outside, because their garages are full of crap. Sure, fill the garage with old furniture, Christmas decorations, and junk from Walmart, and park the new BMW outside. Makes sense.

I was wearing my thermals today - very lo-tech cotton ones.
My only issue was the little bit of exposed skin on my face. That was the clincher. I could have made it if it weren't for that.

I was out walking again this morning. Didn't get far compared to days of old, but the most we've done in 7 years (in the last week).
Today was just 6km but in that time I must have sweated liters . the clothing handled it fine because it's outdoor clothing with built in sun protection, ventilation and so forth, but I forgot about the need for not wearing cotton knickers! Going to have to buy some new knickers... I hate wet knickers. Everything else was dry in minutes of stopping walking except my underwear. Even by the time we got home (currently 1½hrs due to road closures) and not taking into account the stop at the reception building for cold drinks and ice cream on the way out) my underwear was still wet...
But I did get a nice photo or two that might work for a calendar. (I've always made family calendars for Christmas presents for last 15 years or so but had to stop a few years after my back went due to lack on unseen footage of suitable quality)...

Our car lives in the garage, we know a few people who leave their cars outside because the garage is full of rubbish, then moan relentlessly when we have a frost and they gave to scrape the vehicle....there is a simple solution.

Sadly my vehicle won't actually fit through the garage doors! One side is slightly larger than the other for the garage, but the largest side still is only a few inches higher than the other. My vehicle is taller still. We can park in 2.3m high car parks but not 2.2m high ones! The garage is about 1cm too low and that's with minimal tread on my off road tyres. Once I put new tyres on, she won't stand a chance of fitting. Not that I mind because the width was an issue as well. You have to pull both wing mirrors in fully (manual process) and passengers need to exit first.... hubby can get his vehicle in but mostly doesn't both. It doesn't really stop the vehicle getting too hot in summer because the garage gets too hot in summer... we just park under the tree. It protects both vehicles from sun, rain, massive hail stones and frost. Tbh, it is all I can do to get him to remember to bring the car keys in from the car. Theft isn't an issue where we live. Probably a good thing given we never actually lock the house unless we are away from home for more than a couple of nights, so you could just come in and take the keys from the hooks in the kitchen... I think we've locked this house once in the time we've lived here, and the last house only once as well, on the day we moved out. It was similar when we lived in the UK as well. Mind you there were days we forgot to even shut the front door when we went away on holiday 
When we lived in the UK, I drove a Jeep Pioneer, which was a mid-sized open bed pickup truck, brought over from the US. Not oversized by any means, not 4WD, so no lift kit on it or anything, and shortly after we arrived, we bought my wife a new Volvo 240, 4-door sedan.
In both the houses we rented there, the Volvo would barely squeak into the garage, and even then, the passenger had to get out first, and the front bumper had to literally touch the back wall of the garage before the garage door would shut.
Growing up, we never locked the house, even on vacation, and car keys were always in the car (in the ignition, no less). I can remember it like one of those turning points, after leaving home and coming back for a visit and realizing that my parents were locking the house even when they just went into town for a couple of hours, and they were bringing their car keys into the house. Changing times...
Here, the house doors stay locked most of the time, because we almost always exit and enter the house through the garage, and even though the cars are tucked away each night inside, car keys always come into the house with us, just out of habit as much as anything.

I can imagine you having a pair of old-school red Long Johns with the poop hatch in the back.
I used to have a pair, many years ago. I got them for a Pajama Party in my college dorm. I wore them with an old pair of cowboy boots.
