I have tiny little feet, let's just say, I can my shoes in the little girls aisle  they're so dang cute!
I can not wear any women's socks, I don't care what brand! They all say fits sizes 5-9 --- NOPE!!!
I wear a 5 1/2 usually and those socks are atrocious! So dang big on me, I keep buying socks, thinking that maybe this time they fit ---NOPE!
I was cruzin' around Walmart today and went past the kids' section and saw 3 pairs of size 3-9 --- HEH!!! They fit me fine!
I pulled out the tag from the trash bin to save and I turn it over --- they're boys socks, not little girls!
I'm down with that ...

My little sister has the opposite problem. She's a UK size 9. UK socks for women are 4-7.

Its better for her than it was. Our Grannie had large feet at size 8, and really struggled most of her life to get women's shoes. My sister is luckier in that sense, but it's still hard for her. I just struggle to buy pairs of the sizes i need. One for is a 5½ and the other is a 7. Hand knitting my socks means I can custom fit them to my feet thankfully.

My mother had big feet, but she was a tall woman, 5'9 or 10". We lived in a fairly small town, like 1 long street of shops and a couple of smaller side streets in middle of the long street. I remember she had a friend who worked in the shoe department of the large dry goods store (they had everything, think upscale Target) with similar departments on different floors. Her friend would always call her when they got a new shoe shipment so she could come shop.

I used to be a size 5/5.5 depending on style. Till I had two children* (did you know your feet get bigger when pregnant? And stay bigger after) and a bad car accident. Now I am a 6/6.5 left foot and 7/7.5 right foot (damaged in accident so it is large from scar tissue and swelling. When badly swollen, size 8). It gets difficult at times. One shoe is either too tight or too loose.

*Yes, your feet can grow larger and wider during pregnancy due to a combination of hormonal changes that loosen ligaments and the extra weight you carry, which flattens the foot's arch. While some swelling is temporary, the spreading of your foot bones is often a permanent change, with the most significant changes typically occurring during the first pregnancy.

Doesn't seem fair - you have to give back larger boobs but keep the larger feet. LOL

You all are reminding me of one of those novelty/nonesense songs we used to sing in music class when I was a kid:

Nellie’s got a pair of shoes
She can wear them if she’ll choose
So why the heck she’s got the blues?
Who wants to wear size 22?!

Hey, barefoot Nellie
Ho, barefoot Nellie
Hey, barefoot Nellie
You’re the one for me!

MrsT wears a size 10, so I’ll call her Barefoot Nellie every so often. 😉

After our first meeting in 20 years last month, my grandfather has passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. The funeral will be held on friday.
