• I’ve added a casual chat room to CookingBites as a place for off-topic banter, light conversation, and short-lived chit-chat that doesn’t belong in forum threads. The chat room is informal and lightly-to-not moderated, with messages being temporary, so it’s ideal for friendly back-and-forth that would otherwise derail discussions. Site rules still apply, but there’s no reporting system or expectation of post-by-post moderation - if something becomes uncomfortable, the right response is to step away. If a topic has substance or lasting value, it still belongs in the forums; everything else can head to chat.

Yes, I must say I'm just a little "concerned" at the moment. Just hoping a British passport will keep things calm!
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t count on it. I know people who have had trouble or been denied entry with valid Canadian passports.

I’m not traveling to the US for the foreseeable future, and most people I know are avoiding it as well. It’s just too risky.

Same with Brits.

They are using key words to search your phone so the advice has recently been to travel with a clean (as in empty device) with nothing that could be viewed as anti American (that includes any negative commentary of the orange baby).

I suspect people flying in from Venezuela will likely have to prove they're going back home. Probably show a return flight and perhaps proof of income from a job back there.
At least that's the way they do it in other countries when they pull people for questioning and are suspicious they're going to stay.

Mind you the Venezuelan response saying America's not safe anyway, not just for Venezuelans but for everyone isn't exactly going to calm the administration down is it 😂

karadekoolaid I'm sure you'll be fine but maybe pack some pocket meat cos I hear they don't hold you in the nicest of conditions. Or perhaps as it's you a few samosas wink😉

At check in in Venezuela, you have to be able to prove you have a return flight, otherwise they won't check you in.
Happened to me about 3-4 years ago. I was with my disabled son, it was 4.30am and I hadn't got the return flight on my phone.
I had to call my son in Cinci, at 4.30 am, so he could send me the return flight :hyper: :hyper:
This time it's only me and I've got all the flights registered.
Wife & son are already there; they flew in from the UK 2 weeks ago.

Anybody watching the news regarding the pissing match between Elon Musk and President Chump? Boy oh boy.

Not for me it's not, I was up on my stocks this morning but have "lost" a substantial amount of money since this crap show started. So I am paying attention. Of course it's not a loss unless I sell stuff, which I am not about to do at this point.
Gold, bullets, energy, and TP...

Done with investment talk.
