Rocklobster how can 1/2 pint jars per recipe? How much Pickling Spice? And is that "...cook until vegetables are CLEAR?"
And your Mother's hand writing is beautiful, what a treasure!
I have my great grandmother's handwritten recipes that were in an old green tin recipe box.

It says a small bag the size of a walnut. So. I'd say 2-3 tablespoons? I'd tie it in a cheesecloth if you have it. We usually get a dozen or more jars. any leftover goes in the fridge and get consumed in a couple of weeks or so. It lasts pretty good in the fridge.

Okay, so I really should have read the article and not skimmed over it. Nova Scotia used to be called Acadia! The Brits did purge them.

His migraine went away, but he got up at 6 a.m. to go buy grapes up in Cleveland, bring them back, haul them into the IAC (Italian American Club where they make wine), and crush them with the press with his cousins for the wine making, so now he is sore from exerting himself. Which didn't help much with his ankle either, BTW. Hopefully he will be alright to walk the beach a little.

I am thankful that our flight isn't until 4:37pm and is a straight flight into Myrtle Beach with only about 1.5 hours of time in the air. Much better option than if we had left this morning. We'd be checking into a hotel in North Carolina right now for the night and trying to figure out food options.

Yeah last few times we drove. Too much time in the car. I do like taking my knives, spices, and food stuff from my kitchen since I'll be cooking a lot. But it's better flying.

We have something similar. Last weekend we got together with my parents and brother to make tomato relish - and we used the recipe card with my grandmother’s handwriting.
