The builder painter found out the hard way today why we had been insisting on the flyscreen door being kept closed.
"I was only gone less than a minute, too my vehicle to get something".
Yep, that's all it took for a visitor to enter the house. Luckily it was our friendly shingleback who needed a little persuading to get back outside of the house. (This involved me picking him up at one point. ) lesson learnt! Luckily not with a snake.

Not today's photo, but "he" navigates around the property by following the walls of various buildings and the door wasn't where he expected it to be!
So I fed him (free range chook mix) and he was happy again.

The Geckos were great - they ate all the bugs - natures insect repellents

I had a brief encounter with a 6' Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake and for just an instant wondered how fast they can go......
On the down side though, we also had a few Salt Water Crocodiles that would take a stroll up the streets from time to time. I lived one block from the sea so I saw them a lot, and they AREN'T friendly by any stroke of the imagination

No pleasure I assure you. I had the wrong firearm handy with the wrong bullets.We get rattlers were I am as well; although, I have haven't had the pleasure of meeting one yet![]()
There are snakes. The UK has 4 of them, though one is really a legless lizard.One thing I like hiking in the Lake District UK is that there are no snakes, my husband said that to me but I’m not sure if it’s that true. Maybe no dangerous snakes.

Fortunately they are only huge and complately harmless
