My Pa is 78 so he switched to a lightweight scoot and can still outride most people on motorbikesNo, there isn't!Don't think I'd try that at my age now given my reflexes but when you're 20-something...
My Pa is 78 so he switched to a lightweight scoot and can still outride most people on motorbikes
They get very upset when he flies past them on the twisties trying their best on a sports bike
Then you have the outstanding legend of Sammy Miller, here he is at 86 having a little play in his garden

He’s now 90 and still riding, doing demos of his bikes at events etc![]()
There's a pretty much an eye in the sky perusing for thread shifts. But on the plus side I didn't have to worry about starting a thread and getting the tags right![]()
Oooo mi kneesColor me confused. Again. lol
I thought we were talking about bikes in an off topic thread.
Didn't mean to drift that far OT. Although I'm not even sure that's possible
I tried to get into Trials again. But my last trials bike was a late seventies Yamaha.
I hadn't realized how torquey they had become.

Yeah, that bike was short lived![]()
Took a minute to bubble up... That was back in the day when there were spokes coming off the tire you had to tighten/loosen with a little wrench to get the force on the rim evenly distributed. Used to spend hours doing that...There’s nothing like it is there!
Not sure what you mean?Took a minute to bubble up... That was back in the day when there were spokes coming off the tire you had to tighten/loosen with a little wrench to get the force on the rim evenly distributed. Used to spend hours doing that...
Off road always messes with my knees. To the extent I’ve just thrown in the towel. I no longer heal quickly and some remnant of the injury stays with me.Bubble up. Balance/tune.
And funny you should mention knees Sandwich.
After that GasGas shot out from under me when I was getting on it a little, I'm pretty sure I tore a tendon or two. I could barely walk for several months. But since I'm not an athlete or jogger, I just take it easy now and it's mostly fine.
Exactly what I'm talking about! Be stupid to be doing triple digits if it wasn't right. Not sure what you mean?
Spokes are still about and very fashionable now. Costs a fortune to get a wheel re-spoked. Had to do it on the Continental a couple of years ago and had to drive to Wales to find someone who knew what they were doing!
You might have a lucrative side gig on your hands there![]()
Can’t be worse than the youtube educated grease monkeys getting paid to do it now.Exactly what I'm talking about! Be stupid to be doing triple digits if it wasn't right.Probably a good gig if I could even remotely remember what I was doing.

Isn't Windigo up in that area?Thinking of motorbiking to Finland. I’ve heard it’s one of the most coeliac friendly places in the world.
I could get a ferry from the UK to Holland
I’ve got some seriously pent up mobike travel itches to scratch that have been building for a long ol’ time now!
