The motorbike thread

Yes, but SandwichShortOfAPicnic mentioned taking the ferry to Holland first.
I did and that looks like the favoured route. Google maps says the fastest route is ferry to France. Fortunately when you motorcycle (or bicycle) it’s not always about the fastest route, it’s about the more interesting one.

Apparently if I time it right I can get a return to Hoek van Holland with motorbike for £127 which as bike ferry prices go is an absolute bargain. Mind you that’s off season. It’s at least three times that amount when the weather warms!

I've been on that ferry from Harwich as a foot passenger. It was incredibly easy and stress free. No crowds or queuing. That was quite a while ago, though.

Sounds good. What time of year was it though?

Can't remember, Autumn I think. But I know realise it was probably because I was a foot passenger. I've done the Dover Calais route as a foot passenger several times and its much, much easier than by car.

Well, you're welcome for afternoon tea if you decide to pay Holland a visit, but I totally understand choosing the faster route too!

That’s very kind of you.
I’m sure we could find a nice place with gluten free offerings for a cup of tea and a little something 😊
Mr SSOAP says he’s also up for it but would rather wait for the warmer weather 😂

Queueing is not so bad on a motorbike, you get waved to the front and put on first because they use motorcycles to fill all the nooks and crannies cars don’t fit in, especially around the bulk head.

There's a wonderful tearoom that makes homemade scones in my village actually

These scones are there every friday, saturday and sunday and when you order an afternoon tea. They also do gluten free treats on order.
