For dinner try Roy's Hawaiian Fusion. Great food. Great service. Pre Fix menus and Chef's menu available. The Roy's closest to me is in Plano, TX. :hyper: I have been once when G had business in Dallas and another time when we made a "girl's trip" to visit my Niece in McKinney, Tx. Roy's in Las Vegas is better.

I am guessing that your children are tweens and/or teens. With your culinary influence they should enjoy the food. Maybe a "night out" for you and your bride.

Many "Celebrity Chefs" have restaurants in Vegas.

With the kids (both teenagers), we don't gamble much. The last time we went, we didn't gamble at all. There's a lot to do there, believe it or not, aside from gambling. For one, there's world-class dining. We have reservations to eat here:

There's also shopping. So, we don't have to gamble to lose all our money.

Mario Batali has a restaurant in the Venetian. A la carte is very pricey but he does offer a Pre Fix menu. I will play a little Black Jack but dining is top on my list. I have never eaten at one of Gordon's restaurant. Jealous.
 
Another tasty venue - Bobby's Burger Palace - Bobby Flay. On the Strip. The best burger I have ever eaten! Stupidly expensive but worth it for a serious foodie like you. $15 - $20 for a burger - big enough to share.
We do not visit Las Vegas very often - when we do we always dine at Roy's Hawaiian Fusion.
 
I am a very conservative gambler. My max for any casino is $200. The last time we went to Vegas I played Black Jack for 18 hours on $200. I finally quit from exhaustion $5,000n ahead. :hyper: I am not a Black Jack expert. I keep a strategy card in my left hand. Just luck. I have also played Black Jack and lost $200 in an hour.

Many French Chefs de Cuisine endorse Las Vegas Restaurants in the top 5 Star hotels ..

And the Executive Chefs and the Executive Pâtissiers are French and train the Usa teams ..

30 + Michelin Star Joel Robuchon is one of them. ( yes 30 + Michelin Stars )

And the Pâtissier of the Las Vegas Atelier de Joel Robuchon is incredible incredible ..

Then there is Multi Michelin Guy Savoy, amongst other French trained Bocuse Chefs de Cuisine .. Alain Ducasse I believe too.

My husband and I ate at Gordon Ramsey´s on a trip to London for a long weekend several years ago.

Gordon is an extraordinary classical chef of top notch Three Michelin standards ..

We are a bit more subtle and refined ..

Sincé Valentine´s Day falls out on a Wednesday and it is the same day as Ash Wednesday, oddly enough, we shall have a simply light dinner out with a bottle of local Cava .. our fave, Juve y Camps .. Appellation: Sant Sadurni d´ Anoia ..

For an unforgettable experience, Michelin Le Cirque in the Bellagio .. Though we have never been to Las Vegas, we have Heard from reliable sources ..

Or the Paris location ( have been ) ..
