Weather and other bits

It's already as cold as it was this morning when I got up for the first time. I think tomorrow will be colder and I can't stay in bed for as long. By Wednesday though it will be low 30°Cs during the day.

I guess I will be able to put my plants back outside. I've just brought in the ginger, tumeric and about 15 potted orchids.

The weather is certainly a fickled thing ......... all we have is a Wood Pellet Stove which puts out great heat and a seperate air conditioner. I'd love a wood stove but am too lazy (I think) to cut the wood and too tight to buy it :)
Wood is a lot of work. We used to find a hardwood that fell and let it season a year before cutting it up. Make a 4 WD road to it and chainsaw a few days and then trailer it all back and start splitting...

🪓 (No hydraulic splitters allowed.)

I will admit, as much as I have a fairly high cold tolerance (I have no issue walking barefoot through the snow to fetch the mail and back), I really don’t like sitting on a cold toilet.
Get yourself a fancy bidet seat. Models with seat heaters are available!

I have a bidet seat and I will NEVER go back. I even miss mine when I travel.

Today decided to go one better.

And snow was recorded across 3 states/territories yesterday.

Snow, bitter cold, on first day of Australian summer

We've been having typical late November / early December weather here (Pennsylvania deer season weather). Damp, cold, windy, and overcast. We got a few inches or so of snow today. I went out yesterday and today trying to bring home dinner, but the deer haven't cooperated.

We've been burning the fireplace insert for a solid month now. A high pressure system is moving in overnight, so we should finally get a little sun, albeit cold, with the lows in the teens and at least one day this week not to get out of the 20s.
