The weather is certainly a fickled thing ......... all we have is a Wood Pellet Stove which puts out great heat and a seperate air conditioner. I'd love a wood stove but am too lazy (I think) to cut the wood and too tight to buy it

But that said, even when it is lit, the far end of the house does not get warm (think bedroom and bathroom)

I will admit, as much as I have a fairly high cold tolerance (I have no issue walking barefoot through the snow to fetch the mail and back), I really don’t like sitting on a cold toilet.

I don't like being rained in whilst sitting on a cold indoor toilet! Thankfully, when they measured up for the new windows, they agreed with me and the new windows don't have that permanently open section that allowed rain in!

I’d think, “What’s the point of an indoor bathroom if I’m getting rained on?!”

If I get cold I can’t warm back up without help from an external source so I don’t risk getting cold!

This applies to me as well

It's going down to about 65-70F here in the mornings, and the first thing I do is put on a sweater

For me thats closer to 80 F

And if I wear a coat, I wear it in the car as well. I always drive with the window open.
(To be honest, one of these days I should check if the heater actually works)

I"m with badjak - anything under 75 F is getting flannel shirts and sweat shirts/wind cheater time. Of course I am built like a thoroughbred (not much body fat) so I tend to feel the cold more than most people I think. I hate the cold, period - so why do I live in New York State? Because my wife (who is American) does and has all her life.

Actually for this winter I am seriously considering buying a heated vest/jacket. Might let me ride for a little longer

Yep. I live with someone with a limited sense of smell. Sometimes, he gets sent back in to open the window!
