What if the power goes out???I didn’t plan to cook until Tuesday so today my daughter is going to get some mushroom/chicken pate from Trader Joe’s tonight when she goes out for a walk.
Saturday - I’m going to have the peas soup with Mushroom/chicken Pate.
Sunday - bacon, peas, pasta, maybe a bit of carbonara style, with a raw egg, I don’t know I need to look up some recipes.
Monday - Ramen noodles with kim chi and a bit of meat from roasted shoulder lamb, maybe use some cabbage.
Tuesday - making turkey pot pie from the turkey meat, peas, carrots, and onions. I have all ingredients at home, no need to go shopping.
Wednesday- turkey soup with turnips, carrots, celery from the garden, onions, maybe throw in a bit pasta for soup, just to thicken the broth. The soup will be served with grilled cheese sandwich.
Thursday- if it’s dry, my husband and I going out to eat, will take some food back to my daughter.
It doesn’t happen often here. But we have spam. What if the power goes out???![]()

I made a Carbonara on Xmas day. Definitely no garlic; it doesn't need it Pecorino is classic, but Parmesan will do. Guanciale is also classic, but I couldn't find any here, so I had to use pancetta. Far better than bacon, mind you!Pasta Carbonara Recipe

Yes, same here.I can't do weekly. I can barely manage daily, because dishes always depend on what I see in the fridge when I open the door!
I love garlic, but there seems to be a vocal percentage of the foodie population (albeit a small %!) that seem to think garlic has to be in every dish. Chiles are another .Its a good thing to not use garlic, my husband doesn’t like it anyway.
