Weekly menu (2026)

Yes the collagen after roasting the turkey.
Probably the collegen that cooks out when you cook a meat, or carcass, and then it congeals in the fridge when it cools down. It was mandatory in my GM's house to eat a lump with Thanksgiving dinner.

Home made chicken or turkey stock sets as a jelly I find. But yes there is often jelly which sets around the roasted bird when it cools.

Asian crepe today, very little meat, but a lot of vegetables. I need to use the radish I bought recently, the rest of the radish threw in my jar of kimchi, got to use the juice, don’t want to throw them out.
I don’t have turmeric powder, so I’m using a curry powder, lol. Got to improvise.
I also need to use all the bean Sprouts, its like 95% veggies today.
I also need to watch some videos on how to use it.

It was a disaster, I used my new wok and all the dough went to the bottom. I quickly scooped the whole thing and microwaved. My husband said it’s tasty, but not like store bought.
My daughter’s version is a bit better, still not crispy enough, but she liked it enough. Everyone’s plate was emptied.
The bottom line is we are giving up on making this dish at home.
We got to know our limits.

Sorry it didn't work. I am not sure what an Asian crepe is. Do you have a recipe link?

Do you mean rice flour to nake the dough?
I think, I bought a bag already mixed, a bag of turmeric was enclosed too. I didn’t see that at first. But the recipe on the back of the bag has egg to mix in, not sure that is correct either.

Baby back ribs today, they take a long time to cook, maybe 3-4 hours, they are already in the outdoor gas grill at very low heat.
I shredded 1/2 of the cabbage and will open a tin of baked beans.

For Wednesday, I have to go shopping, main ingredient is coffee, it’s sort of on sale but really a dollar higher than last year. So tomorrow i need to cook something quick, thick bacon bits from pork belly, king oyster mushrooms, and spaghetti pasta.

Thursday, I have leeks, I love leeks, so leek potato soup. Maybe grilled ham and cheese. Simple easy, no fuss cooking.

Friday, I need to go to Sprouts to use my $10 coupon, so I will have leftovers of leek soup, BBQ ribs, etc..

Saturday, I will do ground bison, king oyster mushroom and some kind of pasta, not sure if I have pappardelle pasta or not, but something similar.

Sunday, chicken wings and dips, no cooking. If I have time I might make carrot cake, I’m going to try it again with all the ingredients this time.

I came I saw and I bought lots of stuff on sale.
Tri-tip is now on the menu for lunch tomorrow.
I also bought some fresh chicken wings from Smart&Final, i think they are cheaper than Sprouts. I will use the Sprouts coupon to buy lamb rack or chops for Valentine’s lunch.

Today is trip tip with mustard and arugula sandwich. I will do a leek potato soup to get rid of my cheap potatoes. I also will serve this with a beetroot, cucumber, red onions salad. I’ve been wanting to do this salad for a while but I now have some cucumbers.
