What’s the next kitchen item you plan to buy (2025)?

You know me; I'd be measuring those discs and exploring options... 😉
Ditto 😉- there are apparently diy versions of those wood cakes (bisquettes I think they call them 🙄). No doubt that’ll be my next stop.
That is once I stop watching people doing stupid things with their smokers and being surprised when the contents ignite 😂

Had these hob covers delivered yesterday and I'm thrilled with them.
I have two 25cm strips of work surface in my tiny Spanish kitchen and it's a total PITA.
adding the hob as workspace means I now have over a metre, it's so much easier in there now.

And bonus the peeping noise that the hob makes if you dare to put your shopping bags or a tea towel down near it doesn't happen anymore.
Five years shouting at the hob to shut up is finally over 😂

How many slushies for the hob to answer? 😁

Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new electric kettle this morning. The one we've currently got still works, but the base is cracked (it was dropped a couple of times) and has now separated from the rest of the kettle. It's at least 15 years old, so it's probably served its time!

And I did.
I went to the first shop and they only had one; an Oster, at $90. I balked at paying that.
Went to the second shop, about a mile away, and they had a pretty good selection, including an Oster, at $39.99. :D

I'd pay £90 for a kettle (and have recently) but it would have to be a good kettle that does exactly what I want it to (large capacity, adjustable temperature, temp hold with a good long guarantee), I wouldn't pay £90 for a random kettle in a shop that I didn't know about.

Oster makes good products; I've a few. I paid around $90 for my kettle. It's a Cuisinart, has adjustable temp., keeps warm for 30 minutes, holds 1.7 liters, stainless steel, and it can spin around on the base.

Oster have always produced highly reliable products over here in Venezuela. In fact, people don't ask for a blender over here; they ask for an Osterizer!
I've got one of their smoothie blender things that's been going for probably a decade and it mushes everything. Granted I'm the guy with the diamond files that sharpens my blender blades but that aside...

Thank you SandwichShortOfAPicnic for the popcorn thread that has enlightened me to my snacking expense! In an effort to alow for more beer money, it is summer here, I've purchased one of these...

I never knew about mushroom popcorn until medtran49 mentioned it so now I've sourced that as well. Thank you Medtran49!

Now to finish the unpopped kernels I already have...
