What are you baking today (2024)?

My take on TastyReuben Lemon Ricotta Pound Cake - I use Meyer Lemon Juice & Zest
I made a full recipe, which will yield four 5" X 3" cakes. This way our household doesn't have too much cake around and I can share with my Neighborhood Gal Pals & their hubbies.
I just love the texture and of cake... it's not too over the top sweet and gloopy with icing.

My Mother had on her grocery list "cookie mix".
I asked her why she wanted that? Because she wanted to give cookies to her friends at the Senior Living Communtiy she now lives at.
Moi: ABSOLUTELY NOT! Those taste like 💩 I was just about to make some cookies, I'll make a batch for you too.

DH said that the green colored cookies put him off.
🤷‍♀️
I hadn't made Spritz Cookies in for ever!

I made my Paternal Grandmother's recipe, which is in a recipe binder in her own handwriting, for Old Fashion Ginger Bread.
I've made this recipe a gazillion times and it always comes out fantastic.
But I haven't made this, nor much baked goods at all really, for a coupla years ... I messed up on these mini loaves and the sank horribly in the middle (NEVER open the oven door before the 20 minute mark, I know this!!!).
Oh Well, they still tasted good, just won't be giving these away, which made DH VERY HAPPY!

Ok, I made four cookie doughs:
Chocolate chip and macadamia nut
Chocolate, white chocolate chip, and macadamia nut
Peanut butter
Gingerbread

Hopefully DD will help me bake them. If not, they go in the freezer.

I also want to make peppermint bark. That gets done with the microwave.
