No, culottes are split skirts (wide legged pants, aka gaucho pants). Capris in the UK are called capris.

MrsT’s t-shirt yesterday was her “Don’t Make Me Get My Flying Monkeys” one, and I think today’s might be her shirt with the silhouette of a witch on a broom against the moonlight, captioned with, “Why Yes, I Can Drive A Stick.”

Both purchased by me.

Mr SSOAP buys the majority of my t-shirts, he has a bit of a t-shirt browsing habit.
The last one he bought me was good ol’ Will Shakespeare, it says “I’d challenge you to a battle of wits but I see you are unarmed”
The one before that has 60’s type stripes on it and from says “Rebel Scum” (as I know you’re not a fan I’ll mention that’s from Star Wars)

That's interesting. Here, Capri pants are known as tighter fitting cropped trousers popularused in the 50's.. Not loose linen like the photo. And here is the beautiful Bardot wearing them to perfection.

Right, here too in general, especially back in the 1960s, but recent fashion trends have allowed for some to be less form fitting.
