You are all so creative. What other creative endeavors do you engage in?

@SatNavSaysStraightOn - I know you knit. Your Jumpers (sweaters to me) are beautiful. I lack the fine motor shills needed for knitting. You also raise chickens. Jealous.

@morning glory - photography is obviously a passion of yours. Is it strictly food photography or do you have other lovely examples to share?

Many of you are avid readers. Some of you garden.

What other creative outlets do you engage in?
 
@SatNavSaysStraightOn is a very fine landscape photographer. I do some other photography - urban scenes and quirky landscape sometimes. Example here. I also knit but this has lapsed recently. One thing is for sure, knitting and wine don't mix! I am also a lapsed poet, cyclist, painter and film-maker. I'm beginning to think most things in my life are lapsed! :laugh:
 
R/C models, started with cars then moved into helicopters. Two of the cars.

Fitted a rocket motor(Capable of lifting it vertically over 200 metres) to one, to see how fast it'd go.

Photography, still use film.
Cycling.
 
Engineering and motorcycles [I have eight now] but the winter puts a damper on doing anything outdoors. Riding in the cold is not pleasant and as we can no longer tour [we had planned to travel around Europe when I retired] the bikes hibernate. I also have a N gauge model railway under construction - time to get that set up near a radiator I think :heat:. My wife is the 'crafter' knitting, card making and embroidery are all her specialties.

I use whatever rolling stock is suitable the track is actually Peco [a UK company] - my aim is to create a small branch line round about the early-mid 60s allowing the running of both diesel and steam loco's. It also allows a little nostalgia as my father worked on the railway way back then

I used to knit a lot, but haven't done so for years. Most of my knitted clothes seem to last forever. It's not so long ago that I threw out a couple of cardigans my Mum knitted for me when I was 14!

I like reading, and watching foreign films mainly on TV (some with subtitles, some not). I used to do calligraphy but my hands got a bit too shaky for that. I used to paint the backgrounds as well for the writing but haven't painted anything since. I like motorsport including MotoGP, NASCAR and IndyCar, and have met many drivers from all over the world. How many people can say they have walked down the road chatting to John Surtees, or walked along with Emerson Fittipaldi and both Nelson Piquets! I did have a road race one night with Terry Marsh (the boxer) - he got pulled over by the police; I didn't :wink:, and I did used to own an ex-rally Mk 2 Escort, although I never actually raced it officially :whistling:. I suppose you could say I was an Essex girl racer. And I collect stamps.

I too have a model railway layout - a 00 one in my case - a mixture of proprietary stuff and kit-built with a few scratch-built wagons and buildings. That unfortunately has not been used for a while as the model room got full up with the stuff from the loft when my roof sprang a leak. The builders very kindly emptied the loft for me, but didn't put any of it back! I like model making, and have a cupboard full of models that need to be made - wooden, plastic and metal ones, buildings, trains, planes and vehicles - you name it. I also like painting and modifying plastic and metal figures - people, vehicles and animals, mainly 00 ones.

I have made models professionally for other people in the past. One notable one was a model of a Mosquito, which ended up in RAF Brize Norton. It was a plastic kit originally but needed far more detail on it than usual. All sorts of people have seen it, including the Queen, but I don't have the necessary security clearance to go and see it again. I also made a large model of the Titanic, again from a plastic kit but the amount of detail the customer wanted was far, far more. It almost ruined my eyesight though, and I've never done anything so intricate since. I have also built and repaired R/C cars, boats and planes in the past and helped my ex build a rather large R/C Tiger Moth - any larger and we would have needed clearance to fly it.

There are just so many hours in a day ..
Now time for a walk on the beach .. Bundled up of course. It is quite chilly here and very seasonal ..
Then off to office for a meeting for our long weekend tours coming up during our National Holiday Week, December 4th - 9th.
