I found the reference to the cauliflower and saffron which rang a bell in my head! Its in Niki Segnit's wonderful book 'The Flavour Thesaurus'. I'll post it up later...Fortunately, I could cook most everything in advance, at least starting the morning of. The potato dish had to be baked but it was assembled. The only things that needed immediate cooking were the asparagus and the riced cauliflower. I had a friend toss the salad since I didn't want the greens crushed before serving. Others brought beverages.
Peppers and onions go so well with kebabs. I use them too. I serve mine with satay sauce.
