What did you cook or eat today? (December 2025)

So, I decided to have something toffy like you guys - I made:

"boulettes de viande"

Looks oddly like meatballs to me ?????

You'll notice the good china is back as well :D

No pictures, too busy scurrying about :

Instant Potted (is that right?) a bag of dried Kidney Beans to go into a big `ole pot of Paniolo (that's Hawaiian for Cowboy) Chili, to be put together maybe on Thursday ...

Got a HUGE Wok-ful of my version of Fried Rice with Portuguese Sausage aka Linguica and a bunch of other "goodies" goin' on for later

Made up some of my Quick Cucumber Kim Chee (kimchi, whatever)

Marinaded some Teriyaki Chicken through-out the day

BBQ'd/Grilled the Chicken and a Salmon Fillet ... I can save on propane on my three burner gasser by cooking two or more proteins at a time!
Divvied everything up for the `fridge

Plated up supper for this evening, Salmon, Cucumber Kim Chee and the ever present steamed White Rice (had an extra pot sitting there, just cooked the other night)

Made up a take-away plate for our Dental Hygienist of Chicken, Fried Rice and Cucumber for her lunch tomorrow as a thank you... I always take her a 'Local style plate' of something when we go, she loved the food in Hawaii when she's gone with her family

Have to say at this point, you guys certainly do cook and eat some pretty exotic and fancy meals and food
Don't worry, We'll probably be able to bring you round...
When you've been here a while, you'll get to understand that
1) I only eat wierd Indian stuff
2) Tasty eats Mid-western
3) Puggles eats lots of bread and pizza
4) Rascal likes curries and sandwiches with chow.

Not true! Not true! We're all a bit adventurous, even if that means straying outside our comfort zones.

Oooo curry. I recall an indian resteraunt not far from me in Brisbane, when I lived there - and I loved their sweet curry. Not too hot but just enough to make it spicy and tasty.

Sweet mild curry on white rice - sounds good for a cold winters night :)

And why weren't you up at the butt-crack of dawn... 🤠

I like the look of that!
Do you have a recipe?
I have the base recipe I used but adjustments are needed.
I added more chilli, more soy sauce and a little bit of sugar (because although I like sharp things imo it needs the edge taking off it).
Very simple, but nice and cool and hot at the same time 😊

Spicy cucumber salad side dish

Reckon it would work with courgette or cooked cooled green beans etc too.
