A bit too much so. Luckily that slice was all I had to eat between lunch at 12pm and the meal sitting down at 6pm.SatNavSaysStraightOn nothing short of amazing! Bet you were both stuffed!
Where do I sign up?!We went out for a meal last night to a Canberra hotel (Monster Kitchen | Unique Canberra Dining | Ovolo Nishi) that's part of a chain that's gone totally vegetarian/vegan for its menu. Nowadays it is a case of if you haven't booked, you'll not get a table despite the size of the restaurant.
Usually we get the tasting menu, but we fancied a change, so went a la carte this time around. All but 1 dish we ordered was vegan by default.
We split a side dish as a starter along with some toasted sourdough.
This was probably my favourite dish. It was gorgeous. I could have had this to myself!
Hubby had the cauliflower with a brocolini side order.ZA’ATAR ROASTED CAULIFLOWER
+ macadamia hummus, aleppo chili, raisin emulsion, pine nut agro dulce (VG)
I had the butternut squash katsu curry which was very nice.BUTTERNUT SQUASH KATSU
+ wild rice, spring onion, katsu curry, coriander (VG/GF/NF)
Hubby had the only vegetarian dish that we ordered for dessert.LAVENDER CRÈME BRULEE
+ banoffee foam, apple crisp, shortbread, cinnamon ice cream, apple puree (NF)
And I had a gorgeous chocolate mousse where only the chestnuts were a disappointment. I guess I wasn't expecting dehydrated hard chestnuts so it didn't work for me.VEGAN CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
+ poached winter fruit, chestnuts, pedro ximenez (GF/VG)
Looks great and terrific photo.I baked a carrot cake for the first time in my life. Frosting needs practice because it's too runny but it tastes good!
