What did you cook or eat today (March 2026)

Craig made chili with spaghetti for himself. I had a crudite plate. At 12 and clockwise, 1000 island dressing, 2 slices deli roast beef, celery sticks, carrot sticks, zucchini sticks, HB egg, mushrooms, fontinella cheese.

Just spent a week in China. I have about 1 million photos of food. I wish you could see them all, but here are just a few (I'll break them up over a few days so as not to inundate you with too many!)

Shanghai is famous for the scallion pancakes. You find them everywhere as street food.

Y'all know I'm a sucker for meat on skewers. Here's one of many I ate - a lamb one, dusted with some kind of cumin mix and plenty of chili:

Pork and beef mooncakes:

Inside my pork one. Pastry is a little flaky, but still moist.

Another Shanghainese speciality - crab roe noodles. After this shot I mixed it all up.

Heinz Ketchup Lays Fries at a convenience store. They were great and I went back for 3 more packs:

Bit of fried rice:

Deep-fried pomfret fish:

The 'must eat' in Shanghai: Xiao Long Bao - soup filled dumplings. These ones are crab as differentiated by the little orange crab shaped bit of cheese:

Spot of lunch. Steamed corn-fed chicken, fried pork, eggplant (dunno what sauce it was in) and some glass noodles:

...ok I'll post some more tmr.
