So did I. I came up with the Finnish product which is indeed smoked salmon with grains. Sounds delicious to me.
On second thought that sounds like something I should prepare. I can certainly make it, and jar it for preservation, cheaper than the sale price.

Gone Hiking How's the texture on that? Is it like mushed fish from the process or is it flaky? Are the groats discernable? Is it salty? 🙏

Sounds like a regional Scando dish -

I think the grains means flakes. Flaked smoked salmon paste

The can description says it succinctly; "Seasoned sweet smoked salmon paste type of thing". I'll add that the salmon is finely ground, with the overall contents being somewhat soupy, yet very rich and flavorful.
Kalakalle Smoked Salmon groats in tomato sauce, 235 g, canned

I've also had many tins of their fish cock and ham cock, which sounds extremely disturbing, but their labels re-assure, "Does not contain cock". 🧐 I try to be trusting and can only take their word for it. Like "spotted dick", I'm think "cock" is some European bread type of thing. At least, I pray it is.
Kalakalle Fish Cock, 182 g, canned
Kalakalle Ham Cock, 182 g, canned

And their grain fed pork is something along the lines of canned ham or Spam.
Kalakalle Grain-fed Pork, 235 g, canned

They're all kind of an awesome thing to simply throw in your pack for a long day hike, or a deep woods hunting or fishing trip. Each tin contains more than I can eat, usually, so any leftovers get dumped out for woodland critters. In order of ranking, I'd place the Salmon groats and grain fed pork on top, followed by ham cock, and then fish cock. All are good, but the fish cock is very dry... though as I'm thinking about it could do very well with salmon groats mixed in. 🤩

I just realized, yet again, that I have not eaten at all today, again.
My favorite supper is breakfast!

Spam Eggs and that ever present steamed Rice (topped with Aloha brand Shoyu ((Soy Sauce)) and Furikake)
ONO!! (that's Hawaiian for delicious)
I was in piggy heaven, I wish that I had made a larger portion, but that really was enough for me.
DH had made himself a Ham & Swiss Sando on Rye just before I came home from sorting things for my Mother at her Skilled Nursing Facility...

😅
Actually it is cock but given other connotations and innuendo it should be labelled rooster or probably chicken but got lost in translation like the groats!

It's a traditional Finnish dish with EU cultural significance status 🙂

Looks like you order direct from the manufacturer or outlet - army surplus outfit? - you might want to give them a translation heads up! 😅 🐓🐓
