I had two of these sticky ribs:

Some kind of ribbon-like noodles were underneath this egg/omelette topping. It was really spicy and tasty:

Cucumber flavoured Lays.

Breakfast buffet had all kinds of international things but I had two bowls of this wonton soup:

Speciality of this Shangrao area we visited were these spicy braised chicken legs. I brought this one home and ate it with some rice.

More Crabroe noodles:

Fried pork cutlet. Very tender.

This was on the menu as 'fatty beef noodles'. It was hot and sour with thin strips of beef like ribbons. Awesome.

Pistachio gelato. Gelato stores seemed to be everywhere.

Sausage, avocado and tomato pizza. I call it cakepan pizza for an obvious reason. In Chicago they call it deep dish or Chicago style pizza.

I've always wondered; topping with toasted breadcrumbs... is that something that occurs across Italy, or is it a particularly Sicilian thing?

Topping with toasted breadcrumbs is something that mostly belong to the regions of Southern Italy, not only Sicily. In the past, it was the grated cheese of the poor.

A few months ago I made a broccoli risotto, following this guy : Risotto con brocoli e acciughe and the breadcrumbs on top were just fantastic.

Broccoli e acciughe topped with toasted breadcrumbs is absolutely amazing. I sometimes preparare some pasta only with oil, a bit of fresh of chilli pepper and toasted breadcrumbs on top.

Broccoli, garlic, anchovies and a chile pepper or two are a wonderful combination.
Chef in this video added raw, grated broccoli, which was an incredible addition.
