I noticed just in time that it didn't slide on the wooden board.

Broccoli, sweet potato and onion stir-fried in some EVOO. No salt added, just a bunch of mixed dried herbs and shaved Pecorino cheese

I had a gorgeous roma tomato purchased from Aldi a few weeks ago when it was pale and firm. After 2 weeks on the counter it looked like this (still firm and quite juicy):
I toasted a brioche slider bun and slathered mayonnaise on both sides, then put spinach and a tomato slice on one side and perfectly ripe avocado slivers on the other.
Crispy bacon, part of a warmed parmesan encrusted chicken patty, and a fried egg with pepper.

Odd, that. I lived in Kent (and London) before coming to Caracas, and in 29 years, no-one ever served mushy peas!

Yesterday was my birthday but I hate going out ever since Cinco de Mayo became such a big thing, even at non Mexican restaurants. So, we went to The Cheesesteak Factory. I had 2 rewards, 1 for a free dessert for birthday and another $20 off $75+. Went early so got happy hour drink and appetizer prices. Two Long Island Ice Teas for me, tex-mex egg rolls for Craig and Thai chile shrimp for me. Main was truffle-honey chicken with mash and asparagus for me and rigatoni all vodka for Craig. Godiva cheesecake for me and Cinnabon cheesecake for Craig to go. As usual, I forgot to take pictures until we had already started.
