Ha. What I do.I did this with mine last year. I was surprised in that I had 6 tomato plants and at the end of the season I only ended up with 1 qt of green ones.![]()

Love all that and muhammara is my fave!I'd decided on Lebanese food today. I made some kibbe earlier in the week (kibbe for frying) and froze it.Looking through the fridge, I found some lovely red peppers, so m'hammara (a Middle Eastern "dip" made with roasted peppers, walnuts and a touch of chile) was on the books. I roasted the peppers yesterday evening. My wife wanted hummus, and I needed to soak chickpeas to make falafel anyway. Tabbouleh (bulgur wheat, tomatoes, parsley, mint, onion) is always a favourite because it cut's through the heaviness of the fried stuff and is very refreshing.
Sooooo... that looks like a lot of work, but with a food processor, it's pretty straightforward. Mix, blitz, plate; mix, blitz, fry.
I started up the processor and it died on me. Maybe a fuse, maybe the motor burned out, who knows?
We ended up using the hand mixer, which takes about 3 times longer. The peppers where chopped by hand, with a large knife, old style. Good news was, we still got to eat at 5.30!

Red bell peppers are a shocking price here at the mo. Have been, but even more so. They're a couple of € per kg in Spainroasted peppers, walnuts and a touch of chile)
avocados are up to $8

That's about right for tomatoes here and no way am I buying an avo for $8. I don't even but them at a $1.I suppose it depends on the season. Tomatoes, just common or garden tomatoes, are $3.80 a kilo here right now, and avocados are up to $8.
Here, the avocados are a little bigger: but I agree. In season, they're maybe $2 a kilo.no way am I buying an avo for $8. I don't even but them at a $1.
I'll pay up to about 80c each for.no way am I buying an avo for $8. I don't even but them at a $1.
I'm not sure, but my Hass avocados from Mexico that I get from Wal-Mart are .60 cents each right now.I'll pay up to about 80c each for.
When is avo season anyway?
