I can't seem to get mine quite right. My DH (who's American-Italian) liked his a bit thicker.

DD is bringing me some home with pancetta from the restaurant she is having dinner.
Technically pasta fagioli is meat less and served on Fridays during lent. But everyone is putting meat in it now.
Mom made a white one with crumbled Italian sausage in it for my father who had to have meat and no tomato.
