What did you cook or eat today? (October 2025)

I have one of those, a V-slicer. I love it.

What sizes of DO’s do you have? Maybe you’ll have to split it between two?

The mandolin is a Borner. I looked it up on Amazon and it might be Swiss.
I just know I had a hard time getting it apart and I'm sure understanding the words on it might have helped, lol.

That’s what I have. Truth is, it doesn’t get great reviews, but I like it.

I've got an OXO I've had forever with all the markings worn off. I went to use it last time and had to really *look* at the grooves and places to press to see how it came apart to get the various razor sharp blades out/in. Lots of different blades and cutting depths on that one.

There was the smallest tab in the corner that had to be lifted to even get the mandolin out of it's protective plastic framework.

One of those things you wonder why you bought it until you need one.

We've definitely discussed that before, not sure if we had a dedicated thread though. I remember in recipes people asking about EVOO, LOL.

She had to cram all those words into 30 minutes? :laugh:

Meanwhile...
I just started the next two hours, with the lid off. Stirring every 30 min.
It seems to have gotten more red. Not sure why. Those cherry tomatoes have been dissolved for a while. Except for some skins.
