What Goes Into Your Suitcase When You Travel?

Something else that popped up as I was ordering this new bag was packing cubes.

I ordered four medium sized bags that came as a set.
I'm not completely sold on this idea, but...

What do you think?
 
I use them. Not all the time but when motorcycling they’re fantastic. So much easier to find your things. Once you get used to them (ie what you keep in which bag) it speeds up packing and unpacking enormously, eg all underwear in one, all wash bags in another. It’s also good when you arrive and want a quick change or have a specific outfit for an occasion and want to keep all of it together.

Quite often after a long days riding I’ll pull out the one with the wash things and my PJ’s (always wear PJ’s or a kaftan when I’m away) and that’s it, no need to unpack anything else til morning!

I also pack one as a ferry bag so the bulk of my luggage remains undisturbed and a small packing cube slides out with just enough to cover the ferry trip. They save me time and stress looking for things I know I’ve packed but seem to be good at disappearing!

If that was the case you wouldn't be able to sleep in the bed either because bugs don't discriminate which dark places they hide in - so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Geez Louise!
I just spent 3 1/2 hours gathering together and going through just some of the items that I'll be packing for our month long stay on Oahu, Hawaii, USA.

All of ours meds are in one of those clear zippered bags and every bag is labeled for easy of use, so that DH knows where to find his stuff!

That Blue zippered bag has two Hawaiian Airlines blankets in there that we got many years ago, they are quite useful not only on board our flights (`cuz ya know that they don't give those out any more, unless you fly first class), but in the apartment as well.
And don't forget those snacks! 10y old little boys (aka DH) can get cranky :wink:

Today, we ended up shopping (big sales day today) - I bought a pair of shorts (white). MrsT bought some slinky casual slacks, two skirts, four pairs of capris, and nine shirts.

“Why in the hell are you buying all that crap?!”
“I need it for our cruise in December.”

🫤

She travels four or five times a year, and she does this every single time…buys a bunch of new clothes/shoes and when I ask why, it’s always, “I need it for my conference/cruise/work trip.”

I’m going to be wearing the same stuff I wore on our last trip to Pennsylvania in 2024…and to the Mediterranean in 2023…and to Pennsylvania in 2022…and to Europe in 2022…

My sister in law let slip one day .her trick when she buys something new she hangs it on a door or over a chair so her husband gets used to it..then she wears it.
That's when I realized my wife did the same.. busted!!!

I feel an urge to go clothes shopping...maybe tomorrow i'll do that!
