What is your pet peeve in the kitchen?

I absolutely hate mess in the kitchen, sometimes when I cook family or friends will come in and want to help--not to sound ungrateful but I would rather do it myself because sometimes they will leave dirty measuring cups and spoons on the island, spill on the stove and won't clean it up so it starts to cook on it, I clean up after myself as much as I can while I cook and I find others don't do this as often and it drives me crazy.
