What made you smile recently (2025)?

A little scary, but we have a lot of data to show that it will work and even increase with less work and stress. Finally. Putting this old hash slinger out to pasture. .
I’m glad you’re recognizing that’s it’s getting to be too much and making a change, instead of just putting your head down and trudging through. Good for you and good luck on the (slightly) new format!

I am pinned down behind the line 4-5 hours a day.
I've been watching the line cooks for the past week or so. super heroes, turning out the same dishes, 500 times a day, 7 days a week. There's no glory in doing that, however, from a personal point of view.
If you've got other sales items you can prepare which will bring you in the same, or more money, take less time, bring you some peace of mind and give you the opportunity to be more creative, then that, to me, is a no-brainer. Go for it. It's not scary; it's an opportunity.
Bite off more than you can chew, then chew like Hell.

It just seems crazy that we are discontinuing a service because it has become too popular. But, it makes no sense to bring in employees as that is a whole other kettle of fish I don't want to deal with. I've literally started having anxiety attacks. Not sure if it is an age thing or just too much for anybody in my position to handle regardless of age. At 63, it's time to stop the intense pace. I can still earn a living with the other services.
So, that's why I am smiling. I have come to hate it. Just a few more months to phase in some other products. We've purchased a new display freezer so I am going to fill it up with some new stuff like meat pies, family sized dinners, etc...

I'm 63 too and retired last year. My orthopedic Dr. told me if I kept up the break neck pace I'd been doing for 40 years I'd be crippled in 2. 'Nuff said and I gave notices where needed. Now I'm happier, healthier, and no more BP issues. 😁

That’s one of my problems now. I exercise regularly and eat pretty good, but it is always up.
