Little Timmy attended a horse auction with his father.
He watched as his dad moved from horse to horse, running his hands up and down the horse's legs, slapping their rumps, and putting his hands on their chests.
After a while, Timmy asked,
"Dad, why are you doing that?"
His dad replied,
"When I'm buying horses, I have to make sure they're healthy and in good shape before I buy."
Timmy, looking worried, said…
"Dad, I think Uncle Brian wants to buy Mom."
 
What made me smile/laugh recently? Well, I have been going to my local (Marino's) for 15 years so I have gotten to know the staff there (95% females - barmaids/waiteress') pretty well. Anyhow quite a few years back my wife wanted to buy the main bar maid a birthday present which was fine and I thought it was a nice gesture BUT got thinking and my philosophy is "what you do for one, you do for all" - so all of a sudden we had about 15 adopted kids to buy birthday presents for during the course of the year - that's the prelude ;)

Last night (Wednesday here) was one of the girls (the youngest at 21,) 22nd birthday so we did our usual thing, bought her a gift, stuffed some dollars in a card and bought her dinner. Now - normally Marino's on a Wednesday night is pretty busy - not chaotic but constant and refined not in a snobby way but doesnt tolerate drunksor foul language - it is a family resteraunt - well not last night it wasn't, it was as dead a s a door nail. There was virtualy no one there and that wasn't good, not at all. Why, because the girls were bored due to having nothing to do but WE were there and I was only one of two guys in the place and surrounded by 6 absolutely crazy lunitic girls, girls who took every opportunity to take the mickey out of me and everyone else !!!!

I was the outsider - the brunt of every joke and I haven't laughed so much for such along time. The things those girls talk about when there aren't any customers around is unbelievable and probably not printable here !

So that is what made me smile/laugh recently 6 crazy female waiteress', who are the best guys I have ever met, a birthday girl and my wife who egged them all on. For the record though, I stopped smiling when I got the bill - as it turned out my wife invited a couple of the other girls to have dinner as well - unfortuanately the next birthday is for the main protagonist from last night - think I'll drop my wife off, go back home and have the bairmaid call me about the bill --- she is the sensible one of the crew I think :whistling::D :D
