I went to see my 92 year old mother in her residential home yesterday.
She is turning into Mrs Malaprop.
One of the residents has recently returned from hospital following a stroke and according to my mother now he just sits there in a catalytic trance.

We have 'retention ponds' in Texas for flood control. My sister keeps calling them 'detention ponds' even though I have corrected her several times. I finally explained to here that a detention pond is where water would go if it broke the law. She didn't get it.

It's just like people saying 'nukular' in place of nuclear. You can explain it a thousand times, and they will still say 'nukular.'

WWF have just advertised on television their "Adopt a Tiger" for £10 per month.
