That’s the last of that style of Sam Adams…don’t know why they don’t brew that more into the summer months, as it’s an excellent warm-weather beer, but it’s brewed only between January and March.

That friggin’ tapenade was $12! Twelve. 🤬! Dollars! I shoulda just made my own.

There might be a chili pepper recipe hiding in there… :whistling:

Never noticed that ginger beer at Aldi’s before, so I grabbed some…$3.

More to follow…

That's a good price on the ginger beer! I used to buy those when I drank vodka and they were, at Walmart, and easy $6.

I bought a few goodies where we went to today.

Cherry cordial!!! When we lived in Louisiana we'd make that with the wild cherries growing around Cross Lake. When the birds got drunk from the fermenting cherries it was time to harvest. We'd put sheets under the trees and shake like crazy. All that was gathered up and put in large wide mouth jars and then filled with vodka and left to sit, occasional shake, for three months. Filter it off, add sugar, and bottle it up in repurposed wine bottles.

Good stuff.

Talking of TastyReuben 's $12 tapenade, here's something I didn't buy because WTH:

380g jar for equivalent of USD $30? Does that sound reasonable?

Beef bone broth, and chicken, is stupid expensive. I don't eat enough beef to make that but I've always got a chicken bone bag in the freezer and one in the works in the fridge.

Just went to town and as usual all is already packed away.
2 frozen chickens
2 kg chicken feet and 2 packs chicken liver for the boys (Sherlock & BB)
1 pack beef cocktail sausages
3 big tubs yoghurt
1 bottle gin
6 packs apple juice to make cider
2 packs of wine (1 litre, bottles have become stupid expensive)
2 cucumbers
Soap & tooth paste
1 tray of eggs
Frozen sweet corn
Jar of peanut butter
2 still warm loaves of bread
Toilet paper
Coffee
Tea

Tomatoes on the side of the road
24 bottles tonic
5 x 25 kg mielie meal

You always got to check here as prices can be weird.
A triple pack of soap on special was 75 kwacha, but 3 same brand soap, same weight were 19 each.
100 bags of tea 250 and 50 bags 110....

Do you buy plain yogurt or the ones that have fruit and/or a million other flavors? It's hard to find plain full fat yogurt so I make my own. Markets are pushing no fat, Greek, flavors, tons of suger, dyes, homogenizers, blah blah blah/yuck! 🤢
