Liberated a bag of last year's Tabasco peppers from the freezer.
What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today (2025)?

I stopped at a grocery store by my pedicurist's salon just to see if they had any discounted items. I got 7 packages of ground pork $1.99 lb, 6 4-oz logs of goat cheese for $1 each, and some bakery bread and hamburger buns for .99 cents each.

Tomatoes are cranking them out!
Lower left dozen are the Big Beef F1's averaging 8oz. each, Roma's are Roma's so not weighing those, the Mortgage Lifters, upper right 2 that I've never grown before, are averaging 12oz. (12 ounces!), each. Totally stoked!!!

I don't want to open this, it's just so dang BEAUTIFULLY packaged
I could eat chocolate like that all day long. Sooooo much better than most of the highly processed industrialised commercial junk that pretends to be chocolate.

I didn't buy this today, but I pulled it out of the pantry to go with lamb meatballs for a pasta dish. Its a locally made pasta sauce that is rather expensive but I buy it when they're on sale 3 for $10. It's way better than most national brands.
That’s one of my preferred store-bought pizza sauces. Very good.

What a frustrating day!
I didn’t really have to have anything, but I know work is going to be a mess this coming week, since I was out most of last week, and I didn’t get to go my usual Saturday jaunt, so I went today.
Wanted a relaxing drive, so I picked a small town about 45 minutes away for the standard Aldi-lunch-Kroger routine.
Getting there was fine, Aldi was a breeze, then I drove a couple of blocks to McD’s (no booze because of meds right now).
Walked in…forgot my phone in the car (and that’s how I order and pay)…back in, all the kiosks being used.
Waited…waited…got a kiosk…app froze. Restarted app, just about to pay for my order…they came out and closed down the dining room, and I wasn’t about to eat outside in today’s humidity.
Figured I’d just go ahead and get gas, then just something quick in Kroger from their ready-made section.
Gas station was so packed, it was nearly 20 minutes to get in.
Finally, to Kroger!
First, even though it wasn’t terribly crowded, every time I set my eye on a parking spot, some jerk would zoom in and take it. Wha…? It’s not like there aren’t 25 more available. Whatever.
Eventually got parked, grabbed a cart, walked in for the 10 or so things I needed, got the cart half-filled, and then they announced that only cash or checks were being accepted for payment, the card reader system was down.
What is this, 1965 or something?!
Back into the car, no groceries, no lunch, all the way back 45 minutes to the Kroger in my town.
Got my stuff, and against my better judgement, I went with a staffed checkout instead of the self-serve kiosk.
I swear, it was like this person had never seen a register before…or groceries…or other humans.
She questioned or had a problem with every single item I bought: “What is this?”
“Celery.”
“I know it’s celery! Which celery?”
“Bulk celery.”
“These won’t scan.”
“Looks like it’s kind of wrinkled…maybe just punch it in?”
“Can I do that?”
“Now these won’t scan! Veronica! These won’t scan!”
(Veronica comes over and scans it no problem)
“Oh, ok.”
“These are from the bakery?”
“Yes.”
“Hmmmmm…what’s the code for bakery?…I think I need a code for bakery…Veronica! What’s the bakery co—”
“JUST SCAN IT!!! IT’LL RING UP!!!”
“Oh…look at that, it scanned! Thanks Veronica!”
She was so slow, the kid bagging groceries left and bagged someone else’s full order and still finished in time to come back and bag mine.
Anyway, I finally got out:

We went to Costco today, because we've got grandchild's baptism next Saturday, and if I haven't planned the logistics, all Hell is going to break loose. At least 35 adult guests and a bunch of kids...
Toilet rolls - about 25kgs. Kitchen roll: ditto. 8 kgs chicken breast. 6 picanhas. 6 large tins tomatoes. 6 kgs yoghurt. Dog food. 4 kgs minced beef.A few other bits and pieces.
Home - no room in the freezer.
DIL bought 3 chafing dishes this morning (aka buffet part set) which I'd insisted on. That was $45 well spent. AND some rather lovely wine glasses - all plastic, so her proper wine glasses don't get broken. Another good move.
The bill was unmentionable, but at least it'll be shared among 3 families
