I've ticked medium but use all settings on the hob depending what I'm cooking. High (6) for stir-frys or bringing something to the boil, then medium (3-4) if something needs to be cooked quickly without covering, such as sauces, low (1) for simmering, and off for the last few minutes of cooking. The oven is always used at 250C or 230C fan for baking bread, 180-200C fan or turbo for roasting, and 150-180C fan for most other foods. I rarely use my oven these days except for bread, preferring to use my slow-cookers for roasting and baking. The grill is mainly used for browning dishes rather than actually cooking anything.

I use gas hobs, but never pay any attention to the settings on the knobs. I just gauge the size of the flame to the size of pan and the level of boil or simmer I require.
