Not a fan of peaty whisky either
Smells toxic.

Looked up whats in it that my nose doesnt like.

These compounds consist of number of phenols (coal smoke), two furan aldehydes (sawdust and cereal) and series of alkanes (paraffin and other flammable gas), and aromatic hydrocarbons (diesel).
I had said to Mr SSOAP this smells like fuel!
Medicinal, not carcinogenic. It confirmed I really, really dislike peaty whisky. I persevered but didn’t finish the glass. It smells carcinogenic!
I actually spent 4 days on Islay, back in 2001. we toured the Laphroaig distillery, but I tried every single one of the single malts there: Laphroaig, Lagavullin, Ardbeg, Caol Ila (VERY peaty) Bowmore, Bruichladdich and Bunnahabhain. I'd say the last one was the least peaty.Whiskyme’ says -

You definitely need to go Speyside; smoother, sweeter perhaps, sometimes even fruity, depending on the finishing cask.
Interesting. One of the most dominant single malts used to make Johnnie Walker double black is Lagavullin. Definitely a good choice. For me it's Johnnie Walker Double Black Label or an aged Glenlivet
I don't find Double black peaty though just quite smokey. Smokey I like, totally on board with that carcinogenInteresting. One of the most dominant single malts used to make Johnnie Walker double black is Lagavullin. Definitely a good choice.
Love the Glenlivet as well.
