in my experience/travels, Weissen / Weissbier is more often used in the northern areas,
while southern areas most often use Weizen(bier)

both are wheat based - and every brewery tastes different, even if labelled with the same "name"

Yep
Weissen, weizen, weiẞen should all be the same type of beer ( German wheat beer).
Wit is a different type though and is Belgian

Anyway, both are great summertime beers.

And with that, I just poured myself another Saison (made with Lalllemand Belle Saison yeast)
