Whatcha drinking (2025)?

in my experience/travels, Weissen / Weissbier is more often used in the northern areas,
while southern areas most often use Weizen(bier)

both are wheat based - and every brewery tastes different, even if labelled with the same "name"

Yep
Weissen, weizen, weiẞen should all be the same type of beer ( German wheat beer).
Wit is a different type though and is Belgian

Anyway, both are great summertime beers.

And with that, I just poured myself another Saison (made with Lalllemand Belle Saison yeast)

Very excited. As in VERY EXCITED.
I was putting in the interval drinks order at the music venue and the ‘Bristol Beer Factory’ makes up all their beer offerings, so I look them up and all their beers are gluten free! Most are also vegan.

But the very exciting bit for me is they offer an award winning gluten free stout.
STOUT, I SAID GLUTEN FREE STOUT, it’s been so very long since I’ve have a pint of stout:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Great news for you!
Vegan beer is easy, just don't use gelatin as a clarifying (clearifying?) agent.
Gluten free is a whole different ball game!

Thankyou! They go into the process a little bit on the website which is interesting, they use something called brewers clarex which is an enzyme that breaks down the gluten proteins.

I assume navel oranges (mine are bearing fruit for the first time)
But what's the hairy bit?
I have no idea the origin, but a fuzzy navel is OJ and peach schnapps (ok…fuzzy for peach skin and navel for oranges. I’m thick like that…), and a hairy navel adds vodka to it… “hairy” because it’s more potent (“hairy” is a colloquialism for anything extreme or difficult, like “Careful skiing down that path, it’s pretty hairy near the end.”).
